Costa Rica's Mission Evangelism Report

Evangelism News

Costa Rica's Rich Coast Our mission trip to Costa Rica was a great blessing. As I am reminded of the people and places in Costa Rica it brings great joy to my heart that we all serve such a loving, all wise, and wonderful God.

Our airplane landed in San Jose, Costa Rica in the early evening. Pastor Senior of Panorama, Profectico SDA Church was there to take us back to Limon, Costa Rica. We traveled more than 2 1/2 hours from San Jose to Limon. Limon is a costal city on the border of Panama. Limon is a very beautiful tropical region with lots of natural resources. Costa Rica is also a very prosperous and peaceful country with a strong industrious economy. Consequently, many families have migrated to Costa Rica from various countries such as Panama, Jamaica, Nicaragua, and other Caribbean Islands.

The Evening Meetings We began our evangelistic efforts going from house to house praying for many families and inviting them to come out to our evening meetings under the tent. The people of Limon are predominately Catholic, so many were very receptive to us. It wasn't long before we had a full tent of visitors and members from the community, and the local Adventist Church. However, the purpose of our efforts were to evangelize those in the community. The programs and meetings were planned with lots of signing, praying, and preaching. There were more than 12 people organizing the meetings each night. As you can see in the pictures, visitors of all ages came out each night.

Pastor Senior and other members of the local SDA Church had a full program plan for the children and the adults. What a blessing each night was for me as I shared the gospel of Jesus Christ. We had a quiz each night and we gave away books on prayer, bibles, music CDs, and much more. The meetings were scheduled for two weeks, but we decided to extend them another week because the visitors kept coming each night of the second week. We studied the biblical evidence for Christ, the son of God, Creation, Redemption, The Second Coming of Christ, The Sabbath, Man's State in Death, The Sanctuary, and the Great Controversy between Christ & Satan. What a blessing is was to see people stand on the side of Jesus Christ when the final appeal was made. We had several decide for baptism on the last night of the meetings. God miraculously held back the seasonal rains so common to this tropical region during this time of the year. We were blessed by the prescence of God and holy angels as we studied each subject night after night. I'm looking forward for a return trip sometime late this year. Please continue to pray for our brethren and the newly baptized canidates in Costa Rica that God will pour of his spirit in a large measure to prepare us all for His second coming. Amen!

What About Drugs, Food Additives, ADHD & Spirituality?

Healthful Living

Editor's Note:The following information is intended for educational purposes only and should not be used for the purpose of diagnosing, treating, or curing ADHD. It is our conviction that all mental, physical, and spiritual diseases are the result of a violation of definite laws. (see Isaiah 1:4-6; John 5:13, 14; Job 29:16) For all your personal medical concerns consult your physician. For health, hope and healing consult the Great Physician, Jesus Christ, through prayer and the study of His word. It is not our intentions to give a clinical definition and treatment for ADHD. Our desire is to share general information that will enable one to closely examine himself/herself (physically, spiritually, and mentally) in the light of God's Word.

ADHD's Most Common Occurances & Definition

ADHD is the most commonly diagnosed behavioral disorder of childhood. It affects about 3 - 5% of school aged children. ADHD is diagnosed much more often in boys than in girls. Imaging studies suggest that the brains of children with ADHD are different from those of other children.

Depression, lack of sleep, learning disabilities, and behavior problems may be confused with, or appear with, ADHD. Most children with ADHD also have at least one other developmental or behavioral problem. They may also have a psychiatric problem, such as depression or bipolar disorder.

It is becoming increasingly accepted that individuals with ADHD have difficulty with what neuropsychologists term "executive functioning". These functions are thought to reside in the frontal lobes. They enable us to recall tasks that need accomplishing, organize ourselves to accomplish these tasks, assess the consequences of actions, prioritize thoughts and actions, keep track of time, be aware of our interaction with our surroundings, sort out competing stimuli, and adapt to changing situations. They also enable us to judge what is "right" or "correct" as opposed to what is "wrong" or "incorrect".

The Mind/Body Is Very Close

The function of the mind and it's relation to the health of the body is no trivial matter. Throughout the pages of holy writ we find many examples of this mind/body relationship. Among the many recorded miracles of Jesus Christ we find many examples of a very intimate relationship. Moreover, within the inspired counsels of Ellen G. White we find clear statements of this intimate relationship between the mind and the body:

"The relation that exists between the mind and the body is very intimate. When one is affected, the other sympathizes. The condition of the mind affects the health to a far greater degree than many realize." The Ministry of Healing p. 242

"Disease is sometimes produced, and is often greatly aggravated, by the imagination. Many are lifelong invalids who might be well if they only thought so." ibid

"In the treatment of the sick the effect of mental influence should not be overlooked. Rightly used, this influence affords one of the most effective agencies for combating disease." ibid. . .read more. . .

How You Can Prevent Gum Disease

Healthful Living
  1. Eat a variety of fresh fruits, green leafy vegetables, and whole grains to provide the teeth and gums with needed exercise and supply the body with the vitamins and minerals that are essential for dental health. Although all vitamins and minerals are essential for the proper formation and continued health of the teeth, adequate vitamin C intake is particularly important for the prevention of gingivitis and pyorrhea. Vitamin A seems to control the development and general health of the gums; a lack of this vitamin often results in gum infection. Vitamin A is also necessary for healthy tooth development in children. Minerals important for healthy teeth include sodium, potassium, calcium, phosphorus, iron, and magnesium.
  2. Eat plenty of high-fiber foods, such as whole grains, vegetables, and legumes.
  3. Avoid sugar and all refined carbohydrates. Sugar causes plaque buildup and inhibits the ability of white blood cells to fight off bacteria.
  4. Brush your teeth with goldenseal powder every day for at least one month. You can open up a capsule of goldenseal and mix the contents with toothpaste, or use a liquid extract in the same way. After one month, change brands of tooth paste. Don’t stay with the same brand; some brands may irritate the gums.
  5. Change toothbrushes every month to keep the disease in check, and keep your toothbrush clean between uses. Bacteria live on toothbrushes. There are special devices that kill bacteria that you can keep your toothbrush in when not in use. read more. . .

July 2011 Outpost Tour - Over 50 Move Forward In Faith!

Country Outpost Info.

Resting on the Mount of Olives with His disciples, Jesus delineated many signs that would take place just before His coming in the clouds of heaven. He spoke specifically about wars and nations rising and falling as a prelude to the end and the beginnings of sorrow. Then came the rather obscure prediction of the "abomination of desolation" spoken by Daniel the prophet. “But when ye shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing where it ought not, then let them that be in Judaea flee to the mountains:” Mark 13:14 This sign was the greatest of all signs specifically for the Christians. When the Christians saw this sign, they were to flee to the mountains. The history and fulfillment of this sign is recorded in the book The Great Controversy on page 31: “The promised sign had been given to the waiting Christians, and now an opportunity was offered for all who would, to obey the Saviour's warning. Events were so overruled that neither Jews nor Romans should hinder the flight of the Christians. Upon the retreat of Cestius, the Jews, sallying from Jerusalem, pursued after his retiring army; and while both forces were thus fully engaged, the Christians had an opportunity to leave the city.”  Some heeded the warning, while others did not take heed.

Property Tour Today, God has given the remnant church a similar warning with similar consequences. “The Saviour's prophecy concerning the visitation of judgments upon Jerusalem is to have another fulfillment, of which that terrible desolation was but a faint shadow. In the fate of the chosen city we may behold the doom of a world that has rejected God's mercy and trampled upon His law.” (Ibid p. 37) The point of contention in this world-wide controversy between good and evil is the law of God, particularly the Sabbath commandment. In the events now is progress around the world today we can clearly see a decided move toward the Sunday-Sabbath law. As a result, God is calling his people to leave the cities as he called the Christians of old to flee Jerusalem. Who will take heed to this warning today?

“The Protestant world have set up an idol sabbath in the place where God's Sabbath should be, and they are treading in the footsteps of the Papacy. For this reason I see the necessity of the people of God moving out of the cities into retired country [places,] where they may cultivate the land and raise their own produce. Thus they may bring their children up with simple, healthful habits. I see the necessity of making haste to get all things ready for the crisis.” Country Living p. 21

The Country Outpost Tour was a great blessing to us all. Over 50 people signed up for the three-day tour on June 30 - July 4, 2011. Our intentions were not just to sale property or direct families to California alone, but we also wanted to give examples, illustrations, and lessons on what to look for when you make your choice for land and the details you should know on how to live outside of the cities. On Sabbath July 2, we had a wonderful and spiritual worship service in nature at the Outpost in Shingletown California. A number of guests from the surrounding areas can to worship with us. It was a very special Sabbath service.

Sabbath Fellowship Lunch After the fellowship meal, we all went on a very nice nature walk at Lassen Volcanic National Park. As we walked the trails around Manzanita Lake we could see so many reminders of God’s power and love. It was a welcome retreat for many who came from various cities across North America.
Sabbath Nature Walk
On Sunday July 3, we were able to visit four different Adventist families who live in the country. We were all able to learn many things such as:

1.     Why should we should move?

2.   How to develop and set up a garden

3.     The secret of gardening, your compost pile.

4.     How to beautify your garden and make it a pleasant place to work.

5.     How to prune your trees,

6.     Canning, Drying, and Freezing

7.     How to set up your irrigation system

8.     Alternative energy components

9.     Falling trees and splitting wood for heating

10.     Living independent of the power grid system

Sunday's Workshop and Tour

During this past weekend the Holy Spirit moved on the hearts of many to make haste to move out of the cities. Some have decided to rent, while others are making offers to purchase property at a low price. When we move forward in faith, God will go before us. As the door opens for us to move out of the cities, let us do so immediately. Breach Builders is planning another tour this coming Labor Day weekend. If you would like to attend please click on the link below and fill out the form so we can get you on the list. Seats fill up very fast and you don’t want to miss this opportunity. May God bless us all as we make haste to get all things ready for the crisis.

Better Living Goes to Minnesota

Healthful Living

On Sunday, April 17 we studied the subject of health and the plan of salvation with a natural remedy demonstration entitled “nature’s penicillin”. On Monday, we studied the subject of God’s Farmacy with a natural remedy demonstration using charcoal. On Tuesday, we studied God’s plan for health and happiness. This lesson was a review of the 8 laws of health. After the meeting we demonstrated the blood building therapy drink. Everyone including the children enjoyed this demonstration. On Wednesday, we studied the 8 important steps in the recovery of health. On Thursday, we studied the miracle of digestion as seen in the study of anatomy and physiology. After the meeting we demonstrated a simple cleansing formula for the digestive system. Then on Friday, we studied mental health & character development. On Sabbath, we looked at the history of Daniel in chapter 1 and the subject of diet and spirituality.

Rational Remedies Demonstration

Your Health Is Your Wealth - Physically and Spiritually

A group of us also went to visit families who could not attend the meetings. Many of these families are non-Adventist Christians. What an impact the health message had on many who we visited! This work of reform is needed in all our cities, and churches around the world. There are many in need of physical restoration. Many are suffering, and even dying because of the lack of knowledge and wisdom in the simple principles of health and hygiene. We are told that this work will bring the "breath of God" back into the churches. See Testimonies Vol. 6. p. 268
