God's Plan for Swine Flu - Nature's Penicillin

Healthful Living

With all the hype in the news today regarding the swine flu and it's potential threat, it's good to know that God has an answer. The Word of God says: "If thou wilt diligently hearken to the voice of the Lord thy God, and wilt do that which is right in his sight, and wilt give ear to his commandments, and keep all his statues, I will put none of these diseases upon thee, which I have brought upon the Egyptians: for I am the Lord that healeth thee." Exodus 15:26 God's plan is to educate, upbuild, and restore. "The use of natural remedies requires an amount of care and effort that many are not willing to give. Nature's process of healing and upbuilding is gradual, and to the impatient it seems slow. The surrender of hurtful indulgences requires sacrifice. But in the end it will be found that nature, untrammeled, does her work wisely and well. Those who persevere in obedience to her laws will reap the reward in health of body and health of mind." Counsels On Diet and Foods p. 301 The following natural remedy has been proven to be very effective for many years. I have personally used it for more than 6 years and I believe it will work even for the swine flu. It has been effectively used for: colds, flu, sore throat, infections, respiratory problems, and a general immune system strengthener.

1 Orange (don't peel)

2 Lemons (wash thoroughly, don't peel on)

3 Cloves of Garlic

1/2 large Onion

Cut fruit and onion into pieces. Place in a blender and mix well. You may need to add a little bit of water and if you do, add just enough to get the blender to turn.

Dosage: Adults - one cup a day Children - 1/2 cup a day.

This amount is not take all at once, but a spoonful at a time periodically throughout the day, until the total amount desired has been consumed. Pour remainder into glass jar and keep refrigerated. When ready to use, warm slightly in a saucepan before serving.

10 Healthy Habits That May Help You Live to 100

Healthful Living

Editor's Note: The following article is a direct reprint from U.S. News & World Report. While we do not share all the same ideas as those expressed by Deborah Kotz, we have highlighted several points that we think are very important. It is a confirmation of the following statement:  "Health reform, wisely treated, will prove an entering wedge where the truth may follow with marked success."--Review and Herald, June 25, 1959

By Deborah Kotz, U.S. News & World Report

The biggest factor that determines how well you age is not your genes but how well you live. Not convinced? A new study of 20,000 British citizens published in the British Medical Journal shows that you can cut your risk of having a stroke in half by doing the following four things: being active for 30 minutes a day, eating five daily servings of fruit and vegetables, and avoiding cigarettes and excess alcohol.

While those are some of the obvious steps you can take to age well, researchers have discovered that centenarians tend to share certain traits in how they eat, move about, and deal with stress—the sorts of things we can emulate to improve our own aging process. Of course, getting to age 100 is enormously more likely if your parents did. Still, Thomas Perls, M.D., M.P.H., who studies the century-plus set at Boston University School of Medicine, believes that assuming you've side-stepped genes for truly fatal diseases like Huntington's, "there's nothing stopping you from living independently well into your 90s." Heck, if your parents and grandparents were heavy smokers, they might have died prematurely without ever reaching their true potential lifespan, so go ahead and shoot for those triple digits. Follow these 10 habits, and check out Perls' lifetime risk calculator to see how long you can expect to live.

Literature Evangelism 2009 Presidential Inauguration

Evangelism News

A mission project of literature evangelistic work was organized in Washington D.C. with laymen from Hartland College, Los Angeles, and New York City. We were able to pass out 14,000 pieces of literature on Sunday January 18, 2009.

A group of approximately fifty of us from Virginia (Hartland College), New York, and Los Angeles began to assemble in and around the Smithsonian Institute in Washington D.C. by 10:30am on Sunday January 18, 2009. We began working from one end of the public mall to the other sharing the magazine entitled “Last Generation”. The crowd begin to swell by 12:00 noon. People from all over America began to converge on the grounds in and around the Lincoln’s Memorial. We were scattered all over from end to the other talking with and sharing with anyone we came in contact with. I personally shared with many people all day and during the night. By the end of the music concert on Sunday we concerted our efforts to the streets in and around the Metro station. Security was very, very tight! Police officers saw what we were doing and designated a convenient spot for us that would not impede the flow of traffic. I thought to myself, thank God! By 6:00pm on Sunday the crowd of people had begun to swelled to a dangerous proportion. But to my surprise the people readily accepted the magazines as fast as I could hand them out. Many people came back and ask for extras to give to family and friends. God truly blessed our work! By 7:30pm a motorcade came by escorting Barak Obama inside a black limousine. It would seem like the whole city began cheering. We had discovered that we were standing in the midst of a crowd on the same street as the White House and the Blair building. The crowd had intensified so much that we could not get into the Metro station. So we decided to walk to the next station not realizing that many others were doing the same thing. As we walked, we continued sharing the magazine to people and even police officers. Many people were very receptive. By 8:00pm I went back to my cousin’s house for the night. Many of the students from Hartland College drove back to the campus in Virginia.

On Monday January 19, 2009 I came back to the Mall area just to see if I could determine the outcome of our work. While I couldn’t determine the effects of our work one way or another, I knew the Spirit of God had been working with us to reach many. “And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.” “And I saw another angel fly in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach unto them that dwell on the earth, and to every nation, kindred, and tongue and people.” Matt. 24:14; Rev. 14:6-12 Even as you read this God has many people around the world sharing the gospel. Many people are coming to know Jesus as their Lord and Saviour. We are living in the last days. Jesus is coming, He’s coming very soon! Let us work while it is day. Let us all do something to reach one person with the gospel and thus hasten His soon return.
